The season officially ends tomorrow, I called it done on Thursday, the snow was iffy, the grooming was not so hot ... time to call it done.
Total for the season 510.5 kilometers; first time I passed the 500 mark since my aortic valve replacement.

We had one blast of a rainstorm last night. Came down in buckets. Very welcome since this past week we also had the first wildfire, things are way too dry and some people are much too stupid and still toss cigarettes out the window while driving. One could bloody scream! X( X(

Congratulations on that milestone. Amazing with the new 'turbo' valve in place. Good for you.
I didn't get out nearly as much as I wanted, even teaching. I did however get to teach a ski lesson in German, which was challenging and fun.
Switzerland is having a massive Spring snowfall in many areas. Crazy weather.
Hoped to get out once more here, but lots of rain this week forecast, afraid I'll have to wait til next season.
Glad you were able to take advantage and get out there, HJ.

Holy smoke did it pour the last two days! :-o :-o

Super weather starting today and supposed to last all week. I'll test how soaked the layout is or if I actually could do some more "cleaning", otherwise it will be more "easy on the eyes" projects. 8-| 8-|

The last two days have been unreal.
Overnight to Friday we got a load of very wet snow, the chute on the snowblower kept plugging up, 3 meters clearing, clear the chute. Some I shoveled, it was like concrete. Reminded my of back East, but we hadn't experienced that yet in the Okanagan (20 years and counting!)
All three major mountain passes to the Coast were shut down, either too much snow and avalanche risk, or some "highly experienced" drivers caused a pile up.
I called it a "relaxing day"; once the snow was cleared. ;) :ymsmug:
Yesterday it rained big time and the roads were interesting again; not that I went anywhere I just walked the dog and watched some of the "fun".

Looks like it's clearing up on the hill; perhaps I'll head up while SWMBO is baking more cookies. https://www.sovereignlake.com/conditions/webcam/

We've ended up with 10C today?! What happened to winter in Ontario?! I want it back...looks like early April. Wait, we sometimes get snow in April.
Ski season is going downhill.....

I remember one Christmas day in the early 80s I was on my long 30 km country run in shorts, temp + 15º C — not a chance of slip sliding on ice and snow. Very memorable, and then there was Christmas/New Year '98/'99 with tons of snow and close to - 30º C at night.

Yesterday, brilliant sunshine with clear skies -8ºC, perfect skiing conditions and lots of people. We have a big overflow parking lot which was half full when we left shortly after two.

How cold is it? Colder than required to freeze the balls on a brass monkey!

XC skiing area is closed ...too cold! -30ºC at 06:00 but now an almost balmy -24. In the valley also -24.
Yesterday tons of snow that got blown around.
Presently warming up after the first part of snow blowing! I told SWMBO that it's crazy, I'm out there clearing snow, but I wouldn't go skiing when it's this cold. L-) L-) :-?

That’s some serious cold! I won’t complain about our snow and -4C. I’m hoping to get the plow out tomorrow but if it’s windy, I will admire from the inside with some Jasmine tea. :)

Did you get hit with the storms too, HJ?

We got about 0.5m overnight! Need a TBM to clear the tracks now!

Not this one, it's all yours. #:-s #:-s

Good thing you're retired and don't need to go anywhere, eh?

I only start clearing when we need to go somewhere. :D :D

Exactly! We knew what was coming so we had no reason to go out. We cleared the walk and then put on the X-country skis...we now have a really nice packed trail around the neighbourhood. :)
Next storm on the way with 90km/hr winds...

It was only yesterday that I commented in a CBC comment section that Victoria and Vancouver are much better than other places, perhaps more rain but definitely less snow in the winter. I guess that's what jinxed it. O:-) O:-)
