Sorry not sure as I chopped off the box to replace with micro trains ones. I suspect they will as the Kato snap couplings were a drop in replacement on the original GEX set for the rapido couplers.

Thanks Paul. Good idea - I'll chase down some of the Kato couplings and give it a go.

Just an FYI - I ordered a package of the KATO "short couplings" for the GEX. After 2 weeks waiting on them in the post, it took less than 2 mins to swap couplers on the MDS vans!

Just with my fingers, I popped the trucks off the bottom of the car - and then twisted out the MDS stock coupler. An Xacto blade pushes the MDS spring to one side, and the KATO couplers snap right in! The Xacto then pushes the spring back into place, engaging the back side of the new KATO coupler.

Cars line up and connect perfectly with the rest of my KATO RhB stock now.
