Regular freight timings?

Postby Paul S » Wed Sep 04, 2019 4:17 am

Ok are there any regular freight timings over the Albula or do I need to study the webcam at Filisur? :) I’m going to be there in a few weeks and one of my days will be spent walking the spiral bridges so I’m just thinking of being there to catch freight as well. Last time I seemed to be at the bottom of a pier or away from a good spot each time! This time I have a whole day to walk back and forth :)

You can look at the "Grafische" https://www.fahrplanfelder.ch/fileadmin/fap_pdf_graphic_tt/2018/GRhB5.pdf
The one I found is a year old so best check the times for variations. The freights are in purple and the extra prefix is 5.
Cheers

You lucky dog! Have a great time! Another good spot to watch trains is by the pedestrian crossing near the old castle ruins, just outside of Filisur...boy I can hardly wait to go back there next year!

who spent all his time pounding gravel.
It took a long time-he was well past his prime,
but without him the trains couldn't travel.

Paul,
It's generally a good bet that there is something along at about 30 minutes past the hour at Filisur- I guess it must be something to do with crossing passenger services further up (or down) the line.

Keith,
The last time we were there ( unbelievably 5 years ago :( ) , the footpaths had been regraded which meant that the small crossing just outside Filisur was no longer accessible, although the one close to the transformer station and woodyard at the tunnel entrance was still there.

Enjoy your stay Paul.
We need photos. Lots of photos!

Are you going to make a trip to Neules? Curious consumers want to know... :ymdevil:

He has a good selection, probably still smokes like a chimney and the parrots are really chatty. :)) :))

PS Oh yeah, he's just around the corner from my cousin's.

Quick Neule story: on our first trip there, I had spent a lot of time going through the store and his drawers (spare parts drawers that is! :p ) and had accumulated enough to max out both our suitcases and import allowances. When it came to pay, he didn’t take visa and shipping was cost prohibitive. So...he drove off with Elisabeth to the bank to get cash and left me in charge of the store. :))
