I have recently been looking through my copy of Schweers + Wall "Die Bahnhofsspurplane der Rhatischen Bahn" and notice that it gives the following distances in km's:

Spinas 91.801
Bever 96.596
Samedan 97.707
and
La Punt - Chamues-ch 99.993

Which raises a number of questions:

1. The distance from Bever to Samedan would be only 1.111km (97.707 - 96.596).

2. How is the distance to La Punt calculated, is it via the junction point or the station at Bever.

3. What is the distance from Bever to La Punt?

Any help gratefully received.

Hi Nigel,

I consulted the graphic timetables for this. Landquart is "0" reference for the "Stammnetz".

The distance between Bever (95.596) and Samedan (97.707) is 2.111km

The count to La Punt continues from Bever, the distance is 4.397km.

If I remember correctly all distances are determined from a point on the station building.

Thanks HJ, I am most grateful.

I suspected that S&W were 1km out, but was unable to find an authoritative source to verify the data.

In case you wondered, I am currently in the process of producing a St Moritz - Landeck Timetable for my layout, so the correct distance is essential for calculating accurate running times.

Thanks again.

Hi Nigel

What time period is your proposed timetable for St Moritz-Scuol-Landeck?

Regards
