A bit early for that, but since it's snowing again Happy Holidays to everyone.

The first month of XC skiing is in the books. Not quite to the one hundred mark because we had almost a week of deep freeze and I'm too old for that.
Signed up for the Masters program — that's for the older farts, not necessarily those who mastered "things".
All told about 200 people, falling into different groups. Ours is the Skookum Skaters gang and the slowest level group (ours) has 12 members. Yours truly is the oldest (by about 15 or 20 years), but I'm hanging in there. Goal? Skate the 10km "Best in Snow" shortly after my 75th.
As mentioned "There's no fools like old fools".

PS Distance accumulation happens doing classic style. By the looks of it the skins on those skies are just about ready to be replaced — close to 1000 km on them. ;) :-?

Well our tree is up this week, and I've just got to get the oval or LGB track around the base, and a siding off under the stereo where the train is parked during the day.
Anyone else put a train around the tree?
Essential part of Christmas for me. My Step father in law had a board with a loop of HO track around it which my daughter and nieces used to look at until I explained the idea of way bills, got some gondolas, and little snow man candles, trees etc. Suddenly they were figuring out deliveries and such and had fun running it around, making up rules about how many loops before stopping, loading unloading etc... Trains just seem to hold some kind of magic for kids. I hope it still does...they aren't too jaded by watching one on a screen vs running something around.
Anyway, I digress. It's still a week away, but happy holidays to you all and many thanks as always Hans for bringing us all together on this wonderful circle of friends.
Best wishes, everyone. In this turbulent, wild world in which we live, where anxiety from politics, war, climate and you name it rages, having a hobby which brings together friends, offers enjoyment, and encourages sharing, cooperation, and fun, is a relief, and a joy.
"God bless us everyone..."

Greetings to all, back from visit to Bristol for grandsons birthday - 4year olds are hard work! No train round the tree, it would invite terminal damage from the dog :) So back home and hopefully able to get some time back on my modelling projects.

Merry Christmas everyone! I’m off to Phoenix with my wife and kids to visit friends. Maybe I’ll get the chance to snooze on the plane for a little “Dad” time. I could dream about the decoder install projects I didn’t get to this year. 2019 was a busy year again for us with no train time. However, we are all happy and healthy. I’d like to wish all of you a great New Year!
