This was in UK Garden Rail recently and some very good models made from Lego!

Pretty good, but LEGO will forever be stuck in the whimsical drawer in this house.
Hmmm :-? .... we don't have a whimsical drawer in this house. ;)

Great layout - and accuracy of stock at least as good as LGB :)) :D

:-o

Chances are the LGB material was used as the starting point (model).
What is surprising to me: LEGO must over a lot more different blocks than they used back when (early 70s).
I just didn't pay close enough attention to those LEGO layouts at the train shows in the early 2000s.

I had one of the first lego trains which I bought in Switzerland when I was 10. Nobody back home had one, so I was way ahead of the curve. Had lots of fun with it.
I particularly like the creative use of the tiles and colors for the viaduct.
The layout is beautifully sceniced with lots of appropriately sized tress and plants. Very nice indeed.
