Howdy all,

So - I find myself going through the UK a dozen times a year - almost always London the East Midlands - however, at the end of this month I'll be in Manchester for a Sunday afternoon/evening.

Thought I'd check with our UK friends here if there is anything of interest to an RhB-er (or large scale modeler) in the area I should check out? More than once I've found I've passed right by a Swiss railroading exhibition or large scale show and didn't even know it!

Cheers,
Josh

Hi Josh, nothing particularly RhB I know of up that way but this site lists the majority of shows month by month.

There's the Museum of Science and Industry which includes the original Liverpool Road Station, terminus of the worlds first passenger railway, the Liverpool and Manchester Railway.

and some very impressive machinery including a huge Beyer-Garratt from South African Railways.

Main model shop for Rhb stock in the area is Arcadia models . The shop is on the edge of Manchester so not too close to the city centre and closed on a Sunday.
