Hi everyone, as it says, I am in the North of England but really fell over the border from Scotland more by accident than intent (work!).

I have been a lifelong railway enthusiast, heritage and model, and through work many years ago visited Switzerland and was mightily impressed with their integrated transport system. More recently I have been able to visit sections of the RhB with stop overs in Chur and driven over to St Moritz etc. Many stops for photos on the way!

Being semi retired I have been able to devote more time to modelling, after building the shed/workshop I have turned my hand to an HOm RhB flavored 1913 model. The plan is to build this and then a 2nd model of the same station in 2013 - turntable and track modified, overhead power etc installed. Kind of inspired by the dioramas at Minatur Wunderland in Hamburg.

Time will tell - but I have just ordered the Kato N gauge Allegro to go with the glacier express - so n-gauge may creep up.

I am using DCC mainly with servo control and have managed to get it working loco shed doors etc but do not profess to be an expert. Happy to share what knowledge I have with anyone!

An Allegro was a distinctly unstylish, mostly unloved vehicle....... wait a minute, I see what you've done there :ymdevil: :)) =))

Welcome :D I've done multiple periods with two layouts but I like the idea of modelling both with and without overhead as it will make an interesting contrast. Will it be portable as it would be a novel display at a show.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

The layout I am building is 2.4m X 1.2m in 3 sections, designed to be portable.

Station plan is Bergun inspired, turntable now but not later etc.

Research has been great fun - I managed to find a poster regarding the Absinthe referendum and horse sleigh racing at St moritz for the station.
