The mood at the Paralympics was more relaxed, starting with the security at the venue. Not quite the same routine i.e. arriving at 06:00 meant there was no check-in; that had to happen later on.

Accommodation was at the Athletes’ Village, two to a room and lucky me had a room to myself. The commute was a lot shorter and the Whistler venues a short bus ride on the days one wasn’t on duty. Highway 99 was open to the regular traffic and there was less hoopla.

But ... the weather decided to make up for the lack of snow during the Olympics and piled on loads. Between plenty of snow interspersed with copious rain - luckily on training days - it was some experience. Including the early morning bus rides!

The variable conditions certainly put the competitors’ technical crews to the test. Practicing target shooting for the biathlon portion on that very rainy Tuesday was also no picnic.

For a change considerably more pictures from off venue.
